What are ADEK’s teacher pathways?
They are structured programs designed to support UAE nationals and residents in entering or progressing within the teaching profession. ADEK continuously expands these pathways through both short- and long-term training programs. Applicants should review each program’s specifications to understand whether it is suited for individuals with no prior teaching experience or for those already working in education and looking to advance their role.
Is Midad free?
Yes, Midad is a free training program for eligible candidates.
Do I need prior teaching experience to apply to either Midad?
Midad is designed as a first step into education and does not require prior experience. It is a flexible, part-time program designed to fit around your schedule.
In which language is the Midad program delivered?
Currently Arabic, but English programs will be added soon as well.
I work in a school and I am part of the non-teaching staff, can I register for Midad?
Midad is open to community members who are not currently employed in any school in Abu Dhabi. If you are working in a school - whether in teaching, teaching support, or non-teaching capacity - you are not eligible to register for the program at this stage.
Is Kon Moallim fully funded?
Yes, the program offers a fully sponsored postgraduate diploma in education, delivered through leading higher education institutions in Abu Dhabi.
Do I automatically qualify for Kon Moallim after completing Midad?
No. Completing Midad does not guarantee enrollment in Kon Moallim Cohort 2. Top-performing participants may be invited to a screening and evaluation process to earn a seat in Cohort 2.
Will I get a job after completing Kon Moallim program?
Graduates earn an accredited qualification and receive priority consideration for teaching roles in Charter Schools across Abu Dhabi. This is subject to school requirements, availability, and a successful interview process.
If I am selected as a candidate for the program and I am currently holding a job, can I still attend the courses?
Due to the requirements of the program, you are expected to be a full-time learner as many components of the programs take place during the workday.
Is the program delivered in-person or does it have online sessions/hybrid setting?
Programs are primarily all in-person with some sessions being offered online at the discretion of the institution. The programs will also include both theoretical and practical training and be offered in both Abu Dhabi and Al Ain
What are the core learning outcomes of Kon Moallim program?
The course prepares selected candidates to understand the concepts, principles and foundations of teaching strategies to equip them with practical skills for classroom teaching, curriculum design and student assessment. This is done through a mix of theory and practical training as part of the one-year diploma. Upon completion, successful candidates will be able to:
- Prepare comprehensive educational plans with clear objectives, activities, and assessments.
- Design educational activities tailored to student needs and curriculum requirements.
- Develop evaluation tools that account for students’ individual differences.

Is it possible for people from abroad who are not residents of the UAE to apply?

Midad is a short-term, flexible entry-level program that introduces the foundations of teaching. It is more accessible in terms of eligibility and allows participants to explore the field, apply skills in part-time teaching or private tutoring roles. It is also valuable for parents who want to play a more active role in their child’s learning journey without entering the profession. Top-performing participants in Midad may be invited to a screening and evaluation process for a chance to earn a seat in Kon Moallim (subject to meeting eligibility criteria and university enrollment requirements).
Kon Moallim is a long-term, fully sponsored program designed for individuals ready to commit to a full-time career in teaching, leading to an accredited qualification and employment opportunities.
Who is eligible for Midad?
Midad is open to UAE nationals and long-term residents, over the age of 18, who want to explore entering the education field. It is also open to parents who want to better support their child’s learning journey and take a more active role in their education. Additionally, please ensure your Emirates ID is valid before registering. Applications with an expired Emirates ID cannot be processed.
How long does the Midad bootcamp take?
Midad is a four-week, self-paced virtual bootcamp. Participants can complete it based on their own schedule, making it ideal to undertake alongside other commitments.
Can I join if I don’t want to become a teacher?
Yes. Midad is valuable for parents who want practical tools and knowledge to support their child’s school studies and learning journey, even if they do not intend to enter the education field.
What happens after I complete Midad?
Midad equips participants with a certificate that opens the door to a range of opportunities in Abu Dhabi's education sector. Depending on your qualifications, background, and performance, you may be progress into part-time teaching roles, or be considered for advanced program such as Kon Moallim.
Following completion, each graduate builds a profile that helps identify the pathway that fits their qualifications and aspirations best.
What is the duration of the Kon Moallim program?
Kon Moallim is a one-year, full-time program.
What are the eligibility requirements for Kon Moallim?
Applicants must be UAE nationals or residents, hold a bachelor’s degree in any field, meet the minimum age requirement, and meet the PGDE enrollment requirements of partner Universities. Candidates are also expected to commit full time should they be offered this scholarship.
Can I work while enrolled in Kon Moallim?
No. The program requires a full-time commitment.
Will participants be paid a salary during training?
The program covers tuition fees for selected candidates. No additional compensation is provided during the training period. Program sponsorship is subject to completion requirements, as outlined in the program terms and conditions.
What is the schedule of Kon Moallim? How many days a week? Afternoon or morning timing?
The schedule depends on the university, but most programs will be between 3 to 5 days a week. The schedule details will be communicated to selected candidates along with program enrolment confirmation.
What language is the program delivered in? Is there a program in Arabic?
All candidates are expected to have a minimum English language proficiency as some core subjects (like AI-focused studies) will be delivered in English only across all programs. Applicants with high English Proficiency scores (IELTS and Toefl) will have better chances in being selected for Kon Moallim.
